Nominate - Best Board Game Art 2020

Which board games had the best art of 2020? You decide! It's the fourth annual vote and this year saw more gorgeous tabletop games released than ever. Have your say, or check back to view the results!

NOMINATIONS NOW CLOSED: CHECK BACK SOON TO VOTE ON TOP 10

Let’s be honest, 2020 has been no ordinary year and many of us have seen fewer new games than we usually would. That said, the real goal of this website has always been to encourage people to think about and discuss art in board games, and we can definitely still do that.

This is the 4th Best Art of the Year vote I’ve hosted on this site, and each year you’ve nominated hundreds of games and cast thousands of votes, proof if ever it was needed that not only is board game art important to us, but there are an incredible wealth of titles being made now worth talking about.

2020 is (thankfully) almost over, so let’s take a moment to look back and celebrate the games. I’m looking to find out which games (expansions included) released this year had the BEST OVERALL ARTWORK. Will it involve work by industry veterans or someone new to the scene? Will it be a gorgeous indie game or a beautiful big release? To find out the answer, I need your help.

Which board game had the best art of 2020? You decide!

Here’s how it works:

  1. Nominate the games you think have the Best Art of 2020.

  2. In January the top 10 most popular nominations will go to a final vote.

  3. Vote for your favorite and then come back to see the results!

Remember, only the top 10 most nominated games make the final vote.

Help spread the word

Nominations will close 30th December with the top 10 most popular choices being revealed for the vote in January. If you want to be updated on when the vote goes live, bookmark the site or include your email address when nominating.

My site is just one small corner of the internet, so if you like that this vote exists, or simply want to help your favorite games get more nominations then please consider sharing this site on social media. Whilst you’re here, forgive me for telling you about one more thing. Until the end of the year, I am raising money for UK housing and homelessness charity Shelter. Every Mon and Wed I stream board games live on Twitch, and I am giving away games (worldwide) every stream in December to encourage charitable donations. If you’d like to participate you can find more information about that on my JustGiving page.

Nominate - Best Board Game Art 2019

Which board games had the best art of 2019? You decide! It's the third annual vote and this year saw more gorgeous tabletop games released than ever. Have your say, or check back to view the results!

I launched this site back in 2017 to help share the story behind the creation of the art in board games. It’s my belief that this work should be celebrated, and my website’s simple goal is to do exactly that. There are plenty of games and illustrators I haven’t covered, so in order to further spotlight the hard work of those who make our games look so beautiful, I created this public vote.

Last year saw over 200 different games nominated with thousands of votes on the top 10 most popular, proof if ever it was needed that not only is board game art important to us, but also that game releases have never looked better.

2019 is almost over, so I’m looking to find out which games (expansions included) released this year had the BEST OVERALL ARTWORK. Will it involve work by industry veterans or someone new to the scene? Will it be a gorgeous indie game or a beautiful big release? To find out the answer, I need your help.

Nominate - Best Board Game Art 2018

UPDATE: The results of the nominations and vote are now live! You can check them out on the site over here.

I created this site to help spotlight and share the stories behind board game art. How games look form a huge part of how we connect with them but when it comes to awards recognition we often primarily focus on the game design. To celebrate the hard work of those responsible for making our games look so beautiful I created this vote.
